Estate, tax and business planning partner in multi-city and local Houston firms. Served on firms' budget and/or management committees.

Supervised Houston area business collection litigation for public concrete company and handled numerous other business litigation and mediation matters.

One of the founding shareholders, directors, officers and management committee members of a Houston publishing company that created Houston Home & Garden and Dallas/Fort Worth Home & Garden magazines. Helped grow the organization over a ten year period, then sold to a New York publisher.

Assisted clients in successful mergers, acquisitions, sales and liquidations of ongoing businesses and real estate properties.

Tracked down stolen funds, in the millions, through several countries, for an oil trading client, and worked as part of an international team of lawyers who eventually seized the funds in Switzerland.

CPA and CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER:

1968 -1971: CFO, in-house CPA and tax advisor for Texas millionaire entrepreneur involved in multi-state wholesale and retail operations within the banking, environmental, music, plumbing and related industries. Responsible for cash flow, financial controls, tax matters and planning entry/exit strategies.

1962 - 1968: Accounting employee on the audit and tax staff of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte & Touche) and local Houston CPA firms. Responsible for audits of public and private companies, tax planning and preparation of individual, estate, trust, partnership and corporate tax returns.
